Well its that time of year again, time to reflect on the year gone by....its been kind of a weird week. I had a Prairie Fire shot for the first time at a drunken work xmas party on a Thursday night. I went to see the newly renovated Art Gallery of Ontario which was pretty disappointing actually. I saw a kinda pointless documentary at the usually very reliable Doc Soup. I got my lunch DUMPED on me today by my boss...it was an accident but it was pretty darn shocking and my top, scarf and jeans are covered in tomato sauce.
And of course the best news of all news, the greatest band like ever, fronted by my NUMBER 1 man, Damon Albarn, BLUR is having a 'reunion' concert, the first time the 4 of them have been together since 2000, in Hyde Park in London, UK. Well I got an email with a special code to pre-purchase tickets...the tickets on sale Wednesday morning at 4am Toronto time. And I thought to myself, hey self, 2008 has been horrible, you have an opportunity to start making 2009 the best year ever, just wake up at 3:55am, buy some tickets, and worry about the details later. So, set the alarm, could hardly sleep, got up at 3:55am, logged into ticketmaster.co.uk and GOT 3 TICKETS TO SEE BLUR IN HYDE PARK on July 3rd!! How about THAT!
With this weird mix of new and old, good and bad, I thought, let's get started on my best of lists for this horrible 2008. And I thought, its been pretty hard thinking of good movies, so I'm putting that on hold and starting with the list of best music from 2008...and there is TONS of that!

excellent list young lady. I agree with most of them, (fantastic choice by the way Eno+Byrne), and the others, I haven't heard of, but now i will check them out.
So very jealous you got tickets to Blur-congrats. Are they going to record a new cd and extend the tour?
Laura
I don't think Blur have a new CD planned, well not for right away, but hopefully one will drop shortly after Hyde Park!
